We are currently building an Independent Life Skills (ILS) training program for our U.S. youth who live in out-of-home environments. The program will teach our older youth the skills needed to positively transition into adulthood. The program will focus on 20 skills ranging from money management to goal setting to empathy development. We are seeking assistance building this program; you simply need the desire to help!
KandK's team works diligently without pay, and are proud to do so. We are truly founded for non-profitable reasons; as such 100% of donations raised through K&K will be distributed among our programs. K&K’s management team covers the operational expenses; this allows your funds to go directly to the children who need it!
"K&K World Wide-The Blog" will be launching January 2014. We'll have quarterly updates on programs and fundraisers, plus spotlight articles about our Directors, Officers, Partners, and Supporters. We're pretty excited about 2014 being our "Year of Action”!!! Plus we'll be on full twitter mode.
Stay tuned for more information.
K&K helps children on a worldwide scale: both in the United States and abroad. Our target demographic consists of children without families; children who have families, yet live in a state of poverty (i.e. homeless kids in the U.S.); and children who live in an out-of-home setting (i.e. foster homes, group homes, and orphanages). Our goal is to target at-risk youth who struggle with substandard health care, poor food and nutrition, insufficient social/familial support, inadequate education, and little opportunities for success. K&K operates to help alleviate these struggles and to give our children the tools and resources to overcome the obstacles that they face.
KandK's vision for our stateside work is to respond to the needs of at-risk youth by implementing Independent Living Programs that support teens as they transition into adulthood.
KandK's vision for our overseas work is to provide continual support to children that we work with in impoverished, remote locations.
